Selma strongly believes in developing a bond with her clients. She feels it is a priority to get to know as much about their family and lifestyle as possible. This information enables her to provide the best designs while considering their wishes in functionality.

Selma is very passionate about her work and is continually learning about new products, trends and services to provide her clients and peers. Selma's goal is to effectively educate clients and the public on the benefits of hiring a designer to add value to their home while maintaining budgets and maximizing the best value for their dollar.

Other avenues of charity work include being a past member of the Golisano Children's Hospital Gala Committee. She works with the Catholic Family Center with assisting in fund development for the Homeless and Housing Division. She believes in the importance of helping the less fortunate but giving them the tools to promote economic self-sufficiency. Her family participates in the annual March of Dimes walk to benefit research for babies to improve development and health. She feels so blessed to have two healthy, beautiful children.

Why Interior Design?

Selma was born into the creative field. Her grandfather opened up one the first textile/fabric stores in Manhattan, NY in the Fashion/Textile District. She grew up in the family business by working in numerous family textile stores in NYC, Jersey City and Elizabeth, NJ. She advised customers on what fabrics to select for their involved custom projects. Her ability to judge spaces and keen eye for spatial allotment was learned very early on.

She learned her sales and people skills from a young age and the priority of helping people with superior customer service. She watched her grandfather shake everyone's hand as they came into the store and to make sure they were asked how they could be assisted. She is very knowledgeable of textiles, fibers and the different applications & usage of different fabrics. Her keen color sense and ability to select coordinating components for her clients' spaces comes very naturally for her. Once she pursued her dream of interior design, she quickly realized that it was a natural career path fit for her. She is very appreciative of finding her passion in life and you can quickly tell by her joyful nature!
